So I was thinking, I do a lot of writing. I mean a ton of it, really. What if I took some of the books I have written, and just threw them up on the web?
Not the entire things mind you, just maybe five or so chapters. (Not the five or so that I plan to get edited/published either.) Basically, I’m talking just the stories I was on the fence about, ones that will probably never see the light of day.
You see, if there is any interest in them whatsoever, it might encourage me to continue on. You know, finish them in some cases, or at the very least clean the ones that actually had endings up.
If there’s a response, if anyone likes my work. Maybe I could put out one of the books I had intended to publish. (No, I haven’t tried.) Maybe throw up a donation link, you know, to make a little cash from the people that think I deserved it.
I know.. it’s almost cliché at this point, but I must be clear. If I actually did that, I wont be begging for money, no pretty pleases or guilt trips from me. The way I see it, if I did well enough, and the link is there, people will give if they truly liked it. If it’s mediocre , or just barely worth the time that was spent reading, then I wouldn’t think of taking money for it.
Who knows how it will turn out. But for now, I will leave you with this one thought.
Everyone in the world has a story. Rather it’s created with paint, pen, or dance; if it’s spoken or acted out, every person on this earth has something to contribute to the world at large.
